BLACK PEPLUM//KHAKI

Yanoe the quote 'I'll stop wearing black when they make a darker colour?' That applies to this look, lol.

I just LOVE an all black outfit, and this cute little black peplum style playsuit from Missguided has got to be one of favourite items of clothing that I own in this famous shade. The shape of the playsuit is so figure flattering, even when you have a food baby, which makes it that bit more amazing. The bandeau style with the sweetheart neck line also adds a bit more cuteness with a sexy feel. I no longer think Missguided stock this particular one, therefore I have linked a similar one below!

I paired my playsuit with my beloved black over the knee suede boots from River Island to add edge to the sweet playsuit. They are super comfy which makes taking my look from day to night a breeze.

In case the day developed into more of a chillier temperature, I had my absolute favourite jacket of life, my khaki bomber jacket from Topshop to hand, to slip on whenever needed.

To add a pop of colour to my all black look (without the bomber jacket), I wore my fave red lip, Mac's matte Relentlessy red lipstick with a No7 lip liner in the shade red!

SMOKE IT OUT//MAKEUP

A neutral brown smokey eye is my go to when I want to make a bit more of an effort with my makeup during the day. On a typical day, I would literally just wear mascara on my eyes, then add a bright lip to make it look as though I have made a bit more of an effort lol. If i do happen to have a bit of time to spare, I wack on a bit of liquid eyeliner because we all know how it completely changes the look of your eyes - magical. However there are days when your look has to take you from day to night, and I think this smokey eye is perfect for that.

To find all the products used on my face, head over to my NIGHT GLAM//MAKEUP post where I run through how I used each of my favourite products!

For my eyes, I started by priming them with my Collection lasting perfection concealer in the shade 1 fair and rubbed it across my eye lid with my finger. To set the concealer, I used the Rimmel stay matte powder in the shade silky beige. Now that my eyelids are all prepped and primed, I took the brown shade in the No7 perfectly bronzed dual bronzer - yes its meant to be used on the cheeks but I love the shade of the contour side for my crease. Once I have blended the brown shade into my crease, I then took the darker brown shade out the the nudes Maybelline palette (4th shade on the bottom row), and placed that in the outer corner to add definition. To bring light to the centre of my eye, I used the shimmery cream shade out of the palette in the centre of my lid and in the inner corner (1st one, top row). Next, I grabbed my L'Oreal Paris super liner in perfect slim, and started by drawing a flick on the outer side of my eye. I then drew a 'guide line' across my lid in order for my to join up the flick with the rest of the line. After curling my eyelashes with a regular eyelash curler, I took my L'Oreal false lash telescopic mascara in black - the best mascara on earth, and coated my top and bottom lashes.

For my lips, I lined my lips with my Mac lip pencil in the shade 'sublime culture' followed by the perfect pink lipstick - Mac's matte please me!

FLUFF AND FUR//TOPSHOP&RIVERISLAND

Today was a typical autumn day here in England. One minute it's warm and sunny, the next freezing cold and raining. But, that's nothing a bit of fluff and fur can't fix!

I loveeee this pink fluffy jumper dress - the fact that I'm 5'9" doesn't seem to cooperate with the length, but hey ho, just roll with it. The barbie pink colour of the jumper makes it so cute and always reminds me of the quote from Despicable Me: 'Its so fluffy i'm gonna die!' lol. The dress I am wearing is originally from Topshop, however I have linked a similar one below from Missguided - they stock it in either white or grey!

To edge the whole look up a bit, I paired my girly dress with my thigh high black suede boots from River Island. Oh yes, that time of year has come around once again. I have been so excited to wack these beauties out again, and thought today would be the perfect day to do just that. I love how they transform an outfit and take it to a different level simply by slipping them on.

To add even more texture to the look, I completed my outfit with my beloved black fur clutch, which was also featured in my Rose Gold//Date Night post, from Newlook to ensure extra comfort and cuteness.

This much texture definitely set me up for a super snug day.

WEDNESDAY WISH LIST//MISSGUIDED

From top to bottom/left to right:
Gold Buckle Cigarette Trousers Rust

I'm sure i'm not the only girl that spends HOURS of their free time browsing the curse/blessing that is online shopping.

I love seeing all the new items from my favourite brands flood in, but I can't be the only one, that ends up with hundreds of pounds worth of clothes in their basket only to walk away nothing or absolutely everything - there is no inbetween. But seeing as I am going to be a student, on a student budget, it looks like I am more set for the browsing life, than the buying life, for now anyways. However, to keep my spirits high, I thought i'd share with you my current favourites from my favourite brands, starting of with the amazing Missguided.

This is literally my dream online order right now! Denim, khaki, nudes, rust, whites and that much fluff is just like the heavens have opened for me, lol. I am so obsessed with ripped jeans at the minute and theses extreme ripped blue skinnys are sure to be the next pair to add to my ever growing collection. They look so perfect to throw on with a pair of trainers and a tee during the day, but also so versatile for a night look with a pair of strappy heels and a bodysuit.

I also LOVE the white lace bodycon dress, the sheer top khaki jumpsuit, black leather bodycon dress, camel culottes and the feather mini skirt as with freshers week just around the corner and having PLENTY of nights out to get an outfit ready for, I think these would be perfect for that. They are also so chic with a bit of an edge.

As the colder months are just round the corner, my coat shopping has begun - I have quite a bad obsession with coats. The pale pink pastel shades are literally my favourite of life right now and I lived in my one from last year. Therefore, I couldn't resist adding the mauve waterfall coat, the faux fur nude coat and the oversized camel coat to my wishlist! I think the length and the style of a coat can make an outfit by taking it from just 'alright' to INSANE. I was desperately looking for an affordable camel coat last year and I think I may have finally found my perfect match.

Finally, I am always on the hunt for them wardrobe staples that you can wear season to season, and the rust and white co-ords, cream ankle boots, grey leather mini skirt and the stripe tie up crop top are so versatile for all seasons depending on what you pair them with and I think all of these items would definitely have their wear out of them! So I have convinced myself that these would be an 'investment' and not just a treat to myself, from myself, lol.

Enjoy,

Jessica x

THE DARK SIDE//TOPSHOP&RALPH LAUREN

Depending on my mood of the day, determines my look for the day.

Some days I wake up feeling so girly and wanting to wear the rainbow. Others I wake and see a darker side to fashion, today is one of them days!

Black and grey go together so perfectly, as the grey breaks up the 'all black everything' look which I also love. I styled my Topshop grey ripped jeans with a Ralph Lauren t-shirt that was actually brought quite a while back now for my younger brother, but didn't end up fitting him, so of course, I took ownership of it. I'm not going to lie...I have absolutely no idea where it is from as I don't think the Ralph Lauren store online stock it anymore, but I will link their site as well as the rest of the outfit below.

As it was a bit of an awkward day with the weather yesterday in terms of temperature, I paired my look with this black faux leather biker jacket with a fur collar from Topshop. I always find that a leather jacket is perfect for these kind of days as they definitely keep you warm when the air gets a bit chilly but also looks so chic in the mean time.

On my feet, I wore my heeled suede Chelsea boots to keep them snug as a bug in a rug from the cold and rain! They were an absolute bargain from Primark and have lasted me over a year now which is amazing for saying how much I wear them against the price I paid for them.

For accessories, I styled my look with this incredible black leather large tote/shopper bag with black suede detailing down the side. It's literally like my Mary Poppins bag, it's ENORMOUS inside. Plus the sides also unzip to create an even bigger bag - incredible. What makes it even better, is that I grabbed it in the Next sale and it's a good job I got online as fast as I did as it really wasn't around for very long! I tend to use this as my hand luggage when I go away but it also comes in handy when I have a lot of things to take round with me throughout the day, and i'm sure it'll have a LOT of use out of it when I start Uni this weekend.

To add a pop of colour to my look, I used the Mac matte lipstick in the shade 'Relentlessly Red' on my lips - my fave red lip.

NIGHT GLAM//MAKEUP

If you saw yesterdays post - Nude Nights, then you'll know that I went on a celebratory night out on Saturday night with my friends from work!

With any outfit, no look is complete until you've chosen how you're going to style your hair or what makeup look to go for, so I thought I would share with you my night makeup look and how I prep my hair and body for a night dancing my little booty away!

Naturally, I am very, very pale. Like transparent pale. There are times when I love embracing my paleness, and working with it to create different, unique looks, but my personal preference for a night out is too be tanned as it makes me feel so much more glamorous and confident. I usually tan the night before I go out so that I get the maximum results through the tan. My current favourites are the St Moriz fast self tanning mousse for my body and the St Moriz instant self tanning mist, in shade medium, for my face. The reason I use two different tans for my face and body is just out of personal preference as I prefer to use a mist on my face, as I feel I am getting a more even coverage and it has a much lighter feel. Before I apply any of these products, I exfoliate, shave and moisture (you know the drill), to avoid the tan going patchy or streaky. Then once the mousse is applied to my body with a tanning mitt, I'll leave it on for about 2 hours, then shower off. Once out of the shower, I use a few sprays of the mist over my entire face and neck, and sleep with that on. Overnight, the tan on my body further develops and I wake up the next morning feeling a like a golden goddess, ready to take on the world, lol.

So that's the night before. The serious hard work starts the night of going out.

Usually, I start by doing my makeup first. When I am doing more of a smokey, darker eye, I tend to do my brows and smoke my eyes out first, before doing any other part of my face. This is to avoid excess eye shadow sitting on your freshly applied foundation (not cool). I start off by doing my brows with my No7 eyebrow pencil. I then prime my eyes with my Collection Lasting perfection concealer and set that with my Rimmel Stay Matte powder. Next, I took my new L'Oreal Paris color riche eye shadow palette, in the shade Nude Lingerie E2, and followed the guidelines on the back of the palette to apply the product to my lid. After this, I took my No7 Stay Precise felt tip eyeliner and created a wing, followed by my absolute favourite falsies, the KISS True Volume Ritzy's - 63486. To ensure my lashes are set it place, I coat my natural lashes and the falsies with a few brushes of my L'Oreal Paris False Lash Telescopic mascara.

Once my eyes are complete, I prime my face with my Maybelline Baby Skin primer to erase my pores before applying my foundation. I then take my Nars All Day Luminous Weightless foundation and apply that with a sponge across my entire face. To further conceal anything that my foundation hasn't quite covered, I use my Nars Radiant Creamy concealer, and tap in with my finger. To conceal my under eyes, I take my Collection concealer and then set my entire face with my Rimmel Stay Matte powder.

Following this, I move onto highlighting and contour (my favourite part). Firstly, I take my Mac Mineralize Skin Finish powder in Global Glow, and lightly start to contour my cheeks, jawline and across my hairline and forehead. Next I take my Collection Contour Kit, and use the contour shade to further sculpt my cheekbones and nose. Then, I grab my Mac Mineralize Blush in Petal Power, and place on the apples of my cheeks and blend in with the rest of the bronzer. To highlight, I use the gorgeous champagney/white shade in the Collection Contour kit, and apply it to the top of my cheekbones, cupids bow, tip of my nose, the arch of the brow and above the highest point of the brow.

Once my face is done, I go back to the lower lash line of my eyes, and apply the dark brown shade below my lash line starting from the outer corners and blending into the middle. I then took the golden shade and blended that further into the corners of my eyes. To highlight the corner of my eye, I took the sparkly white shade from the L'Oreal palette, and applied it directly in the corner and blended it out. After this, I coated my bottom lashes with a few brushes of my L'Oreal False Lash Telescopic mascara.

Finally, for lips, I take my Mac Lip Liner in Sublime Culture, and slightly over line my lips to give a fuller pout, followed by one of my favourite nude lipsticks of all time - the Mac Matte lipstick in the shade 'Kinda Sexy'.

*AND BREATHE*

Now that my makeup is all done, I move on to making my mop (hair) from a mess into a slick, straight style. I prep my hair with my L'Oreal Paris Elnett Satin 3 day straight heat protect stying spray by applying all over my hair. This is followed by my TRESemme Keratin Smooth Beautifying Oil to the ends of my hair and begin to blow dry. Once my hair is dry, I take my GHD IV Periwinkle styler as part of the pastel collection, and straighten my entire head of hair. After this, I apply a few sprays of dry shampoo to my hair to give it a body and spray a bit of my John Frieda Keratin Infused Ultimate Fixation hairspray onto my parting to prevent any fly aways, ie baby hair (I have a lions mane of baby hair) escaping from their aligned seat lol.

As we already tanned the night before, to give that extra glisten to your golden skin, I apply my Soap and Glory Glow lotion to my body, which is absolutely gorgeous as it gives you a beautiful shimmer and highlight.

And your ready to go! Obviously you have to put your clothes and shoes on, but aside from the wardrobe department, you're set for your night out!

Soap & Glory Glow Lotion - Newer version now also has a sun kissed tint!

Rimmel Stay Matte Powder - Silky Beige
Mac Mineralize Blush - Petal Power

NUDE NIGHTS//MISSGUIDED

Yesterday was my last shift before I go to Uni at my job at Boots! So, it only seemed normal to go out for food and drinks to celebrate and say my final goodbyes until I come back to Derby to spend Christmas at home with my family and friends.

I styled this nude strapless bodycon midi dress with simple accessories following a neutral colour palette to keep the look chic yet luxe. The bandage style of the dress makes its by far the comfiest 'going out' outfit I currently have in my wardrobe, as you feel like it's just hugging your body!

The cleated sole sandal heels in a crisp white shade add depth and edge to the look. Plus they are also the comfiest pair of heels I own also, so overall I was sorted for a fun, pain free night which was a wonderful bonus as I'm sure every girl can relate too. My original ones worn are from Topshop, however I have found some alternatives from Public Desire that I have linked below.

My clutch bag is a patent nude style with gold details to compliment my jewellery and the finer details on the rest of my outfit.
