NIGHT GLAM//MAKEUP

If you saw yesterdays post - Nude Nights, then you'll know that I went on a celebratory night out on Saturday night with my friends from work!

With any outfit, no look is complete until you've chosen how you're going to style your hair or what makeup look to go for, so I thought I would share with you my night makeup look and how I prep my hair and body for a night dancing my little booty away!

Naturally, I am very, very pale. Like transparent pale. There are times when I love embracing my paleness, and working with it to create different, unique looks, but my personal preference for a night out is too be tanned as it makes me feel so much more glamorous and confident. I usually tan the night before I go out so that I get the maximum results through the tan. My current favourites are the St Moriz fast self tanning mousse for my body and the St Moriz instant self tanning mist, in shade medium, for my face. The reason I use two different tans for my face and body is just out of personal preference as I prefer to use a mist on my face, as I feel I am getting a more even coverage and it has a much lighter feel. Before I apply any of these products, I exfoliate, shave and moisture (you know the drill), to avoid the tan going patchy or streaky. Then once the mousse is applied to my body with a tanning mitt, I'll leave it on for about 2 hours, then shower off. Once out of the shower, I use a few sprays of the mist over my entire face and neck, and sleep with that on. Overnight, the tan on my body further develops and I wake up the next morning feeling a like a golden goddess, ready to take on the world, lol.

So that's the night before. The serious hard work starts the night of going out.

Usually, I start by doing my makeup first. When I am doing more of a smokey, darker eye, I tend to do my brows and smoke my eyes out first, before doing any other part of my face. This is to avoid excess eye shadow sitting on your freshly applied foundation (not cool). I start off by doing my brows with my No7 eyebrow pencil. I then prime my eyes with my Collection Lasting perfection concealer and set that with my Rimmel Stay Matte powder. Next, I took my new L'Oreal Paris color riche eye shadow palette, in the shade Nude Lingerie E2, and followed the guidelines on the back of the palette to apply the product to my lid. After this, I took my No7 Stay Precise felt tip eyeliner and created a wing, followed by my absolute favourite falsies, the KISS True Volume Ritzy's - 63486. To ensure my lashes are set it place, I coat my natural lashes and the falsies with a few brushes of my L'Oreal Paris False Lash Telescopic mascara.

Once my eyes are complete, I prime my face with my Maybelline Baby Skin primer to erase my pores before applying my foundation. I then take my Nars All Day Luminous Weightless foundation and apply that with a sponge across my entire face. To further conceal anything that my foundation hasn't quite covered, I use my Nars Radiant Creamy concealer, and tap in with my finger. To conceal my under eyes, I take my Collection concealer and then set my entire face with my Rimmel Stay Matte powder.

Following this, I move onto highlighting and contour (my favourite part). Firstly, I take my Mac Mineralize Skin Finish powder in Global Glow, and lightly start to contour my cheeks, jawline and across my hairline and forehead. Next I take my Collection Contour Kit, and use the contour shade to further sculpt my cheekbones and nose. Then, I grab my Mac Mineralize Blush in Petal Power, and place on the apples of my cheeks and blend in with the rest of the bronzer. To highlight, I use the gorgeous champagney/white shade in the Collection Contour kit, and apply it to the top of my cheekbones, cupids bow, tip of my nose, the arch of the brow and above the highest point of the brow.

Once my face is done, I go back to the lower lash line of my eyes, and apply the dark brown shade below my lash line starting from the outer corners and blending into the middle. I then took the golden shade and blended that further into the corners of my eyes. To highlight the corner of my eye, I took the sparkly white shade from the L'Oreal palette, and applied it directly in the corner and blended it out. After this, I coated my bottom lashes with a few brushes of my L'Oreal False Lash Telescopic mascara.

Finally, for lips, I take my Mac Lip Liner in Sublime Culture, and slightly over line my lips to give a fuller pout, followed by one of my favourite nude lipsticks of all time - the Mac Matte lipstick in the shade 'Kinda Sexy'.

*AND BREATHE*

Now that my makeup is all done, I move on to making my mop (hair) from a mess into a slick, straight style. I prep my hair with my L'Oreal Paris Elnett Satin 3 day straight heat protect stying spray by applying all over my hair. This is followed by my TRESemme Keratin Smooth Beautifying Oil to the ends of my hair and begin to blow dry. Once my hair is dry, I take my GHD IV Periwinkle styler as part of the pastel collection, and straighten my entire head of hair. After this, I apply a few sprays of dry shampoo to my hair to give it a body and spray a bit of my John Frieda Keratin Infused Ultimate Fixation hairspray onto my parting to prevent any fly aways, ie baby hair (I have a lions mane of baby hair) escaping from their aligned seat lol.

As we already tanned the night before, to give that extra glisten to your golden skin, I apply my Soap and Glory Glow lotion to my body, which is absolutely gorgeous as it gives you a beautiful shimmer and highlight.

And your ready to go! Obviously you have to put your clothes and shoes on, but aside from the wardrobe department, you're set for your night out!
