If you are from the UK like myself, then you'll understand the pain of waiting months and months for new products to launch after the US release date. Us Brits must be considered a patient bunch because the waiting game is agony, however, the time is coming to a close for the release of the eight new colours adding to the current Maybelline Color Sensational Creamy Matte Lipsticks; hallelujahhhhh!
I have been a fan of the original collection since the day they launched, so I have desperately been anticipating to see what the new shades will bring. Thank you to the wonderful people behind Maybelline UK, I have the entire bunch of new shades named: 'clay crush', 'blushing pout', 'orange danger', 'rich ruby', 'fiery fuchsia', 'berry boost', 'burgundy blush', and 'midnight merlot', being added to the original colours: 'nude embrace', 'rose rush', 'magnetic magenta', 'craving coral', 'siren in scarlet' and 'divine in wine'.
The description of these lipsticks follows: "slip into our creamist matte formula, meets bold pigment colour for our smoothest, most seductive mattes, in make-a-statement shades. New Color Sensational Cream Mattes give you matte lips that look smooth moisturised and more plump, and feel comfortable all day."
I always fear when it comes to matte lipsticks that by the end of the day, the colour is going to be flaking off leaving my lips dry and lacking some serious moisture, however, as the name gives away, these are made with a ridiculously creamy formula! It almost feels like you've just applied a lip balm - LOVE. As far as the pigment of the shade goes, some of the new shades such as 'berry boost' and 'fiery fuchsia' aren't for the faint hearted as they are as bold as bold can be. They make the most perfect statement lip. Another thing I noticed immediately after receiving these beauties are how diverse the colour range is, as there is a shade for everyone and every occasion - from bright coral orange to an intense fuchsia, to a pale blushing pink to a perfect nude. After wearing the shade 'clay crush' all day, I did need to reapply a sweep of lipstick after eating and drinking, but this doesn't bother me as I would rather my lips feel comfortable than the lipstick being glued and tight on my lips. Apart from this, the colour lasted amazingly and I didn't suffer from the old 'lipstick on the teeth' horror which I have been a victim of multiple times embarrassingly.
To help you sum up which colours are perfect for use I have swatched them all of my lips below!
Clay Crush
Blushing Pout
Orange Danger
Rich Ruby
Fiery Fuchsia
Berry Boost
Burgundy Blush
Midnight Merlot
Keep an eye out for the launch of these beauties in stores and online in the next few weeks!
