CURRENT FAVOURITE MAC LIPSTICKS//MAKEUP

At the start of this year, I didn't own a SINGLE item of makeup up from MAC. Say whatttt! This for me especially is very hard to believe as the obsession is real. It seems that my first ever trip to a MAC store was eternities ago, and my lipstick collection could back that up, so I thought I'd share with you all of my current favourite MAC lipsticks from beautiful nudes and pink to the brightest of the brights.

VELVET TEDDY

If there is one must have lipstick in your MAC collection, it has to be the famous Velvet Teddy. The perfect nude pops to mind when I wear this shade as I find it looks different on everyone depending on whether your skin is pink or yellow/cool or warm under-toned, the natural shade of your lips and your skin colour. For me personally, Velvet Teddy sits effortlessly between a brown shade and a nude shade, giving a flawless look. What I love most about this lipstick, is that it feels exactly how the name suggests - like velvet. With one stroke onto the lips, you are left with such a silky, creamy and moisturising finish whilst still looking matte. I pair Velvet Teddy with the Max Factor colour elixir lip liner in the shade 14 'Brown n Nude'.

KINDA SEXY

'Kinda Sexy' finds itself in my favourite lists for similar reasons to Velvet Teddy, yet they are so different at the same time. I find this one to give more of a classic nude look with hints of beige and pink combined into the finish on the lips. Again this one is so creamy and moisturising that it feels like you are just wearing a lip balm, yet you actually result in beautiful luscious lips! For lip liner to give added definition to the finish look, I use the MAC lip liner in the shade 'Subculture'.

PLEASE ME

If there is one perfect pale pink shade it HAS to be this one. Please Me is sooooo beautiful. It was actually the first MAC lipstick I ever bought (at the same time as Relentlessly Red), in the Liverpool store and oh am I glad I did. This lipstick has got to be my go to during the day whenever I feel my makeup needs a lifts as it gives you such an angelic look and suits both pale or tanned skin. It is much more matte than Velvet Teddy or Kinda Sexy, so I would recommend putting on some lip balm and letting that soak in before applying this lipstick to make it last all day long! Before applying 'Please Me', I use the Rimmel exaggerate lip liner in the shade 'Eastend Snob'.

ALL FIRED UP

All Fired Up is part of MAC's 'retro matte' finish range and it is the perfect bold pink. I love a good pop of pink lipsticks as it can completely change your look from the 'I woke up late' to glam all through the help of a little colour! To slightly over line my lips before applying the product, I use the No7 precision lip pencil in the shade 'Raspberry' as it literally matches the shade of the lipstick to a T.

CANDY YUM YUM

This lipstick is the brightest of the brights, like you're gonna need some sunglasses with this one, lol. Candy Yum Yum is undoubtedly the brightest of pinks around. I remember the first time I ever put this on; my boyfriend and I had just shopped around duty free at Birmingham Airport before our flight to Egypt and of course, I had to have a browse at the MAC stand where I fell in love with this particular one and therefore purchased it. When we got on the plane, I was that excited to try it on that I wiped the lipstick off that I was originally wearing and embarked on putting Candy Yum Yum onto my lips, 30,000 feet in the sky - call my crazy. After tackling the moving plane, the lipstick was on. The look on my boyfriends face was like he'd seen as ghost. His only response - 'it's a bit bright' but in the most amazing way, and that really is the best way to describe it, lol. It has taken me since May to finally find a lip liner to match the colour of this lipstick and Kiko's smart lip pencil in the shade 714 'pink iguana' matches amazingly.

LADY DANGER

After having only purchasing 'Lady Danger' yesterday at Student lockdown at Meadow Hall, I have only used this lipstick once so far; as soon as I got in from shopping, lol. I have been on the hunt for the perfect orange/coral lipstick for quite some time now, and have always overheard of the shade 'Lady Danger' from MAC's matte collection but never purchased it...until now, and I am SO thankful that I did. My first thoughts when applying this lipstick is that it sits perfectly between an orange and red shade with the most incredibly creamy feel and finish. So expect to this this colour popping up a lot on my blog in the future! For lip liner, I used the No7 precision lip pencil in the shade 'Paprika'.

RELENTLESSY RED

Relentlessy Red was among the first MAC lipstick I ever bought (along with 'Please Me' at the same time) and it has been my all time favourite red ever since. It applies so smoothly and flawlessly with a buttery feel but is super matte at the same time. Without a doubt my 'go to' lipstick if I'm ever struggling for time to create that dramatic 'night time look', as it completely pulls your makeup together. It literally makes you look like you have made so much more effort than you actually had the chance to, which is the best bonus, lol. The colour of 'Relentlessly Red' sits somewhat in-between a bold red with a hint of pink which is what I love most about it - it isn't your 'classic red' and its great. For lip liner, I use the No7 precision lip pencil in the shade 'Red'.

FLAT OUT FABULOUS

I have been debating on purchasing 'Flat out Fabulous' for a couple of months now but thought I wouldn't be bold enough to go out and rock it (says the one who has 'Candy Yum Yum on their favourite list), until yesterday when I finally took the plunge and purchased it! As soon as I put this lipstick on, the pop of purple just made me feel so fun and playful and instantly brightened up my mood after a day of developing painful blisters through shopping - pain is beauty lol. The finish is super creamy to begin with only then to turn matte after placing the product onto your lips so I am super excited to wear this out. Seeing as I only purchased this yesterday, I am yet to have a lip liner to match, therefore I will update as soon as I have my hands on the perfect match.
