If you know me, you know that I'm all about PINK. So what other look would be necessary for today's face than a pink/mauve smoked out eye, and a bright pink lip!
For this look, I opted to use Mineral foundation as opposed to liquid foundation as I find it glides on so much more natural and even when my skin isn't at it best. So here's how I got this makeup look and all the products used below:
To begin with, I placed my No7 Instant Illusions Airbrush Away Primer over my entire face to help blur out any fine lines and imperfections and create a smooth base for the rest of my makeup. Next, I took my Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer in the shade Custard and dabbed on any areas that I wanted to conceal ie blemishes/marks and used a buffing brush to blend the product into an even finish. I then took my Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer and created a triangle shape under my eyes to cover any dark circles. By taking the same buffing brush, I blended the concealer gently into my skin. To set the concealer, I used my Rimmel Stay Matte Powder in Silky Beige and placed this on any areas that I had just concealed.
For me, these steps above are key as once complete, I have already covered any marks or imperfection before I've even touched the Mineral Foundation, therefore, all that's left to do is even out your skin tone. This means that you aren't drawn to completely powder your face to death in order to try and get a high coverage as the purpose of Mineral foundation is for it be light and airing. So, if these steps aren't done before you use the Mineral Foundation, the result will be a very light coverage, almost as if you haven't put any makeup on in the first place, which lets face it, no one wants to feel as bad with makeup on as we think we look without it.
I personally LOVE the No7 Mineral Powder Foundation as it is just as good if not better than some of the higher end Mineral Foundations that I have used on the market. The only downside is that unfortunately, the power only comes in one shade - New Ivory (whyyyyyy). But for me, because the coverage is light, I have never had a problem with the colour as it still lets your natural complexion shine through and leaves your skin still looking like skin.
To put the product on my face, I take a large fluffy powder brush, tip some of the product into the lid, swirl my brush in the powder and tap the remains off. I then literally pat the product with the brush evenly over my face until I'm happy with the outcome!
To contour, I took my No7 Bronzed Dual Powder and used the brown shade to accentuate and contour my cheekbones. I then took my Mac Mineralize Skin finish in Global Glow and placed that on my cheekbones, forehead and jawline. For blush, I used my fave, the Mac Mineralize Blush in Petal Power and placed that onto the apples of my cheeks. Finally, for highlight, I sweeped my finger across my No7 Instant Radiance Highlighter and dabbed the product on the highest point of my cheekbones, above the arch of my brow, on the tip of my nose and my cupids bow.
Next, I moved onto eyes, starting with my brows! I took my Soap and Glory Archery Brow Tint and Pencil in the shade Brownie Points and filled in my brows. I then grabbed my new baby, the Urban Decay Naked3 palette and used the shade 'Nooner' in my crease. For my lid, I sprayed my brush with a bit of Mac Prep and Prime Fix + so that the glitter in the shade for my lid wouldn't go everywhere like usual. Next, I took the beautiful Buzz (not Buzz the Lightyear) shade and placed the shade all over the lid. Taking my L'Oreal Paris Superliner, I created a wing and connected it with the rest of the liner on my lid. I then added a few coats of my L'Oreal False Lash Telescopic Mascara to give me long luscious lashes! For my under eye, I took the same 'Nooner' shade and blended that into my outer corner followed by the shade 'Buzz' across the inner corners of my eyes. After a few coats of mascara on my bottom lashes, my eyes are complete.
For lips, I grabbed my trusty No7 Lip Pencil in the shade 'Raspberry' and lined the outline of my lips to add definition and fullness to the finished look. I then finished the look off with my Mac matte lipstick in 'All Fired Up' which was featured in my previous post: CURRENT FAVOURITE MAC LIPSTICKS//MAKEUP.
I completed my face with another new favourite, my Mac Prep and Prime Fix +, to bring my entire makeup look together.
