After a fresh fake tan sesh, I thought today would be the perfect opportunity to get on the (late) bandwagon and channel my inner Gigi Hadid at the VMAs with her golden and glowy makeup look!
To prime my face ready for the rest of my makeup, I used the Maybelline Baby Skin Primer and focused on my t-zone as this area tends to be the section of my face that gets oilier throughout the day. Next I took my No7 Skin Illuminator and began to highlight the areas of my face that the light natural hits ie the top of your cheekbones, tip of the nose, above and below the arch of the brows and the cupids bow, before my foundation. This helps to create a dewy, glowy natural look right from the start! I did this simply by patting the product into my skin with my finger.
Now that my face is all set, it's time for foundation! I have only recently purchased the Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation and have used it a couple of times and so far, I am loving it! It does exactly what it says on the tin and gives your skin such a natural, healthy glow whilst concealing imperfections without looking cakey. I wear the shade 'Beige' and it is the perfect colour for my skin so I highly recommend you give this foundation a go! To conceal, I used to the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer in the shade Custard to cover any blemishes that the foundation hadn't quite covered completely and patted that in with my finger. On my under eye area I placed a bit of my Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in the shade Fair in a triangle shape and blended it out with a brush. To set my face, I used my No7 Perfect Light Loose Powder in the shade Translucent.
To begin contouring and defining my face, I used the middle shade in the Barry M Chisel Cheeks Contour Kit and blended that out in the hollows of my cheekbones as well as down the sides of my nose. Next, I grabbed my favourite - the MAC Mineralize Skin finish in Global Glow and placed that on my cheekbones just above where I have just contoured as well as around my forehead. For blush, I used my trusty MAC Mineralize Powder Blush in Petal Powder and placed that on the apples of my cheeks. To highlight I took the highlight shade in my Smashbox #SHAPEMATTERS Palette and placed that on the tops of my cheekbones, tip of my nose, above and below the arch of my brows and my cupids bow.
Next I moved onto brows! I have been loving the Soap and Glory Brow Tint and Pencil in the shade 'Brownie Points' recently so it's no surprise that it is featured in today's post as well! Once I have filled in my brows, I took the Maybelline Brow Drama Sculpting Mascara in Medium Brown and brushed my brows in the direction they naturally go as I was going for the 'natural brow look'.
For my eyes, I took the shade 'stripped' (first shade on the second row) out of my Smashbox #SHAPEMATTERS Palette and blended that out into my crease. I then sprayed my flat eyeshadow brush with a spritz of my MAC Prep and Prime Fix + so that the glitter shade I'm about to use on my lid does fall of because I'm sure everyone knows, it is not fun lol. Once I have done this, I took the shade Champagne (last shade on the top row) and patted that all over my lid. I then went back in with the shade 'stripped' to redefine my crease. For my lashes I coated my bottom and top lashes with my L'Oreal Telescopic mascara in Extra Black.
Finally, for my lips I opted for a nude shade to bring the whole glowy look together. To line my lips, I used the Maxfactor Color Elixir Lip Pencil in the shade Brown 'n' Nude followed by the Maybelline Color Drama Lipstick in the shade Nude Perfection.
To set my makeup in place, I used a few spritz of my MAC Prep and Prime Fix + and the makeup look it complete!
